AWARD: Mercedes-Benz heads Awards partners

This year's AUTOSPORT Awards, taking place in London on December 7, will benefit from the support of high-profile partners including Mercedes-Benz.

In the year that the German manufacturer dominated the Formula 1 world championship with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, Mercedes is also celebrating 120 years of motorsport.

"The AUTOSPORT Awards ceremony is one of the undisputed highlights on the annual motor racing calendar, and appropriately, the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel will be filled with great names, great drivers and great teams," said Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd CEO Gary Savage.

"It is a privilege to be a partner to such a prestigious and popular event, and our sponsorship is a combined effort between Mercedes-Benz's road car business and our Formula 1 colleagues.

"Our ongoing support of the AUTOSPORT Awards is a celebration of motor sport in general.

"It's a terrific event in its own right and one that we always enjoy attending, and at Mercedes-Benz, we are marking 120 years of motor racing this year, meaning the timing could not be any more apposite."

Mercedes-Benz is joined by several other partners for the 2014 AUTOSPORT Awards, with the Bahrain International Circuit, BMW, Castrol, Pirelli, Tata and UBS supporting the event this year.

AUTOSPORT.com will be covering the event live, with text commentary running throughout the evening as well as news reports on all of the award winners as they are announced on stage.
