An NGTC Chevrolet Cruze could appear in the British Touring Car Championship next season.
RML started building the car ahead of the 2012 season before Chevrolet withdrew from the series.
Now former BTCC driver Chris Stockton has acquired the car and hopes to run it under the BTC Racing banner in 2013.
"It's a very big opportunity to buy this car," said Stockton, whose BTCC return at Silverstone earlier this month was curtailed by illness.
"A lot of development has already been completed by RML and it is nearly ready to start assembling the TOCA parts.
"I've tried competing in older machinery and, without making excuses, it's impossible to take on the best in less developed machinery."
Having not been represented in the BTCC in 2012, Chevrolet could have two privateer teams on the grid in 2013.
As well as BTC's car, Tech-Speed is still hoping to run a turbocharged version of the S2000 Cruze it campaigned last year.
